The titanic battle for the coveted first prize and gold medal has intensify as the six finalists have one day to prepare for the final showdown. They will play at the Finalists’ Gala Concert with the accompaniment of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO), conducted by Brandon Phillips. The CPO opens the concert with an overture where after each finalist will then perform a movement from a concerto while being adjudicated by the panel of eight adjudicators.
The concert finale will be performed by a former competition finalist and category prize winner, Myles Roberts.
