Building on the momentum, following the excitement that was created with the success of the 2017 National Youth Music Competition where 14-year-old violinist, Gilah Kellner walked away with the coveted title, the National Youth Music Foundation (NYMF) has announced the date for next year’s competition.
NYMF Chairman Michael Maas confirms that Hugo Lambrecht Auditorium in Parow, Cape Town has been booked for the 34th competition from 8 to 13 October at the venue.
The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra is also available to accompany the six 2018 finalists at the gala concert that will be on Saturday 13 October 2018.
Get ready and spread the word for another showcase of South Africa’s top classical musicians, aged between 14 and 19 years. The closing date for entries will be announced in the first quarter of 2018.
